Who supplied, installed and services the plant
What this page tells you: who built, supplied and services the plant, and what each has said.
Facts as recorded by the owner. Root cause not determined. No cause is asserted on this page.
The owner’s contract is with the builder. The plant manufacturer sells through a regional dealer, and a local contractor does service work. Knowing who holds which information helps an investigator know whom to ask.
| Layer | Organisation | What they hold or do in practice |
|---|---|---|
| Contract with the owner | Azimut | Sale, delivery, installation of the plant, after-sales |
| Plant manufacturer | Veco / Climma | Compressors, inverters, controller set-up, warranty terms, design documents |
| Regional dealer | SEA Power Systems | Quotes, parts, replacement plant |
| Local contractor | ASAP Marine | Service, insulation tests, thermal surveys, installation labour |
| Insurer | Pantaenius, with an appointed surveyor | Survey and claim handling |
What each party has said about responsibility (dated)
- 2024 (dealer): the systems were installed and commissioned by the manufacturer in Italy.
- 5 Feb 2024 (manufacturer, via the dealer): piping, installation and filling were carried out by the builder and are outside the manufacturer’s warranty.
- Sep 2026 (dealer): it would not lead a root-cause investigation and recommended involving the compressor manufacturer.
- 8 Oct 2026 (dealer): it does not hold the requested design documentation.
- 9 Oct 2026 (builder): as-built wiring is to be verified with the manufacturer; the commissioning document is the available fill record.
- 12 Oct 2026 (manufacturer): supplied its electrical diagram for the installed 3603 plant (order 7704, dated 15 Feb 2022).
The full dated record is on the interactions page. These statements describe different parts of the chain. They have not yet been brought together into one investigation, which is what we are asking for help with.
Stray current: hypothesis and recorded facts
The dealer raised stray current (electrolysis) as a possible factor and noted it would need separate confirmation. Facts recorded so far: the on-board isolation transformer is always in circuit on shore power; hull potential reads in the protected range; underwater anodes are largely intact; other seawater equipment on the same sea chests is unaffected. The leakage-current test was done with the plant off.
